New Year Blues already?

with one comment

Feeling very lethargic and listless lately. Having enough sleep yet feeling tired. Also, not really enjoy eating my food – to those who knows me, I’m very cincai with my food eating. I kinda like to eat, so anything I also enjoy walloping except for a few  minor things. Thanks God for chicken rice that always rescues the situation – kinda lightens up my days.

3rd week into the new year and some of the motivation drained out. I guess I need to take time to adjust back to the daily schedule – being stuck in jam for hours going to n back from work. Previously during the school holidays in December, traffic was so nice that i can go and come back from my office in 1/2 hours time. Nowadays takes me averagely 1 hour to go and come back, and when it rains – it gets worse! i guess all this is taking a physical toll on me and can really feel it literally in my bones … especially my knees. Would you believe it whenever I bend down my knees, can hear crack crack sound from both my knees. Aiyoyo, old liao :p!

Anyway, I’m determined to kick start my new year resolutions. Let me put it down in writing so can remind myself :

  1. Exercise and keep the stamina – trying to go for some hiking and sports regularly. Planning for something soon.
  2. Patient – I find that I’m quite impatient nowadays, maybe due to influence of driving around in PJ. Hope to slow down more and enjoy life, not rushing here and there.
  3. Spend more devotional time – quiet time for reflections, praying and reading good books and The Book :) Again, need to stop rushing around so much and take time to smell the flowers… so to speak…
  4. Enhance my leadership skills – pass my knowledge and helps others to be leaders too. Aim to read again John Maxwell’s book Developing the Leaders around you…

So there it is, these few things to focus on for the rest of this year. Wish me all the best and let’s achieve our dreams this year together!

Calm in the storm

leave a comment »

Not something that what I would want to write as my first post of the new year 2010…

Feeling a bit sad after reading what’s happen in the past one day. How people who acted so immaturely and with such narrow-mindedness that can destroy what has taken 52 years to build.

We have already attained so much progress in terms of technology, communication, knowledge and freedom of expression but yet we are no closer to understanding and accepting one another. Perhaps we have become more selfish and more self-centered in the course of self-empowerment and self-development. Just looking at the way we drive, cutting in others queue whether when driving, lining up at the Komuter/LRT or even sometimes at the buffet lines. We need to re-discover the spirit of caring and loving one another, just as Christ has done for us.

We are always reminded to be salt and light, and to be a shining example and to continue to show God’s love in a very relevant and real way. In this of challenge and storm for our country, let’s pray for God’s wisdom and strength to be with the leaders to solve the issues at hand with great care, understanding and spirit of humanity…

(Matthew 5:1 -12) Blessed are the peacemakers… be the calm in the storm …

14th MNC & GC Happenings

Well, being in the committee again this year after being involved last year has made us all wiser from previous experiences and mistakes. It’s been great re-connecting again with old faces and some new people in the midst as well, upgraded in their role and positions.

Overall, we had been quite busy in the programs but somehow managed to pull it thru’. Didn’t managed to get much photos taken but thanks to Ivy who got this shot, we treasured this one the most – the program team that runs the video shooting & flashbacks, multimedia, P&W, program, announcement, stage lighting and stage management:

MNCTeam

Thank God for the strength to sustain us. Never thought we could make it some of this year’s experience were the firsts for us. Among the many firsts :

  • Involved in the first P&W session while also being the committee. Being in the committee alone is enough to take up most of our time.
  • To save cost, we travel back to Cheras every night after evaluation meetings and coming back early the next morning. Our meetings at night ended around 1230am to 1am every night, and the next morning back in the hall by 8am. The travelling from Cheras takes around 45 minutes one way.
  • Doing announcements was the first time for me – phew, thank God everything went well.

There were many more but overall, we thank God for the smooth running and good support from our AV vendors. It’s indeed have been a great convention and we’ve been blessed by every session as well. Looking forward to next year’s MNC but not sure whether we still will be involved or not :p … hehehe… coz’ got other plans coming up :)

Busy… Bz… Bee Zee… It’s a busy month ….

Had been a hectic few weeks so far. Ever since the start of the 14th MNC, it has been busy weeks continuously for both of us. Not that I’m complaining, it’s been a fruitful past two weeks as we had settled and done so many things.

Renee’s mum was here for the past two weeks, and it has been a blessing to spend time with her and also Rekha. We went for many shopping trips, places and even managed to squeeze in two trips to Penang and Melaka in her time here. All in all, it’s been great and exciting time and managed to catch up so many things.

Another thing to thank God for is that starting last week we’ll be on 4-day week work mostly because every Friday is a holiday until the New Year. So, it’s kinda great as well that we can have that extra day of rest every week. So, will update more on the trips to Penang and Melaka soon.

Killed by car inside shopping complex ???

with one comment

Read the story here… it was unfortunate that the the victims were killed by the freak accident and somehow the person in the car managed to survive :

Man, this is freaky… this shows anything is possible. So strange and yet scary… even inside a shopping complex is not safe. So just be careful wherever we are. Sometimes what to do… when the time comes to go, cannot avoid…. not like Final Destination :)
