Ivan’s housewarming @ 10 October 2009

with 2 comments

It was held on Saturday. When the day arrived, the gang meet at church at went there. It was quite an exciting journey as we didn’t really know the way but thank God managed to reach after a while. It was an exciting time for Ivan and his family to host us and almost 100 people – bringing us around and showing the house. Behold – the new Leong’s residence and Ivan’s lair of comfort…

It’s a very nice place with the back facing a forest reserve. Early in the morning will have fresh air and also with nice surroundings. So, after we had dinner while waiting for Ps. Kit Siang and Shara to come and pray for the house.

Later on, the rest of the Hope Serdang gang come over and all of us sat at one corner having our dinner. It’s a nice dinner with great food – catered by the host with some of the delicacies provided by the relatives of the family.

Finally, when Ps. Kit Siang came, all of us went up to top floor of the house (sort like the upper room) and we gathered and asked for every one’s prayer needs and pray for them. Then, after that we made our way home. A very simple night but great fellowship and had a great time … wishing the Leong’s family happy moving into new house and pray for many years of great happiness ahead in the new house.

October 2009 Happenings

leave a comment »

Wow… so many things has happened this month and time really flies. Was busy with quite a few things and without realizing, a whole month has really past with so much things has happened. I’ll try to recall and update as much as possible.

Let’s see… there was happy and sad moments. Happy moments is that celebrating many birthday’s this month (in our CG is Ker Shin and me), went to ice-skating for the first time, went back to Sabah during the Hari Raya break, Ivan’s new house warming and some interesting stuff here and there.

Sad moments is that this month has witnessed the death of the fathers’ of 3 of my church members – 2 of them within this week. Our condolences to Zoe, Wai Seong and David Pung and their family on the demise of their loved ones.

Will try to blog more about it later…

Gift for my special one

with 2 comments

How many of you find it easy to buy presents? Especially buying things for your loved ones? Maybe many might find it easy and can come out with many ideas. I’m always amazed by those people who can come out with interesting ideas or get unique looking or special design gifts.

For me, it’s always something common and the same everytime I think to buy of a gift. But this time, I managed to come across something very special to get for my wife. It’s not a special occasion or anything but when I saw the thing in the shop, immediately I said in my heart, i must get it for her. It’s nothing much – it’s just a bottle wrapped with love ribbons and have a cover on top of it. Inside it are many love-shaped cushions that can be taken out. Here’s basically what it looks like…

So after picking it up and later presenting it to her back at home, I’m so glad that she liked it so much that she asked me to blog it. So, here’s the posting about it :)

A thoughtful gift from South Korea

Korean Couple Doll

Korean Couple Doll

Thanks to Jia Xiong who gave Renee and myself a very nice and cute gift from South Korea.

He went there for an orchestra performance with the Penang Symphony Orchestra and get a few gifts for our CG – including Korean chocolates with different flavours. But especially for us, he bought us this cute looking couple toy that looks so loving even though they look very old.

Guess it signifies the relationship and commitment that they have for one another until their golden age. This will definitely goes into our new house showcase.

Thanks again, Jia Xiong for the gift – we loved it!

WA Camp Retreat @ Tekam Felda, Pahang @ 30-31st August 2009 (Day 2)

The second day started with something nice. Having a nice and comfortable sleep, I woke up and surprised to see the whole area enveloped with mist. Very cool and nice… reminds me of Cameron and Genting Highlands. many of us were taking the opportunity to walk around and experience the nice cool air. As for me, what else… take photos leh…

After that, I took a walk to the cafetaria for our morning breakfast. Breakfast was nice and simple – coffee/tea with nasi lemak. The sambal was just nice and not spicy, and also had some fried meatballs and fishballs. I spend some time there talking to some of the guys and we lepak there quite long until the games leader came to call us for our respective individual games that we signed up yesterday. There was flying fox, abseiling, kayaking, fishing and many more. As for me, i decided to go abseiling – even though I’m afraid of height! It’s because previously I enjoyed very much a training leadership camp that we went – also had abseiling and then it really trained me to be less fearful of height.

So, we all went there to the spot and the instructors and helpers gave us safety briefing. Then, one by one we put up our safety gear and waited for our turns to go. All the while I’m quite ok but when my turn comes, my legs start to shake. Especially the climbing part… going up and up and up… there seems to be no ending to it. Finally, i reached the top and was shaking up there. Then it was my turn to go down – take the first step of the platform was the hardest. After that, was easy – and the feeling of having conquered one of my greatest fear is… priceless.

Scary! ... Going Up... and Up... and Up... Coming Down... and Down... and Down... Finally, Phew!

Catch more of the action down here for the abseilers :

Heroes and survivors of the "Abseiling"!

And also catch the actions of our very own paratroopers and flying squad :

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's the ... "Flying foxes" ... and flying guys... and flying girls...

So after everything, we still had some time to spare so we decided to walk around and take more pictures. Indeed, this is a very nice place with very well organized development and landscaped, simple and yet very nice.

Finally, we went back to our dorms for one last time to pack up and then we headed to the reception area. Over there, we all gather once again to hand in the keys to the room, managed to take an overall group photo and begin our journey home.

On our way home, we stopped by near Janda Baik for lunch. Man, this being the end of the school holidays and the Merdeka long weekend break, there was so many people around – on the way back to KL after teir holidays. We went to a restaurant where Ivan and his mom had a meal previously – the name is called Restoran Foon Lock.

We ordered some steam fish, vegetable and toufe but man, was the wait super long as there was many people around. Finally, when the food came, all of us devoured the food and then we make our way home. Unluckily, we were caught in a jam about 5km from the UIA toll and took us some time to reach KL. After that, we sent Jia Xiong back and we went to take back my car from Ivan’s place. Going back home, we had an early night to prepare to go back to work the next day.

All in all, it was a good trip to be refreshed after long periods of work and looking forward to another trip soon.
